Family-owned, scratch-made Italian on Park Meadows Drive that's been quietly the best non-chain Italian in Lone Tree for 13 years. Garlic knots and lasagna are the two-item locals' order. Worth crossing the parking lot from the mall.

Cranelli's opened on December 26, 2012 at 10047 Park Meadows Drive, a strip-mall storefront across the parking lot from Park Meadows mall, and has been run by chef Jimmy Crane and owner Lasinda Crane the entire time. The 13 years matter. Most of the Italian options around Park Meadows turn over staff and concepts every two or three years; Cranelli's has the same kitchen, the same servers in many cases, and the same scratch-pasta recipes. That's the part that doesn't show up on a menu card.
The scratch operation is real: dough rolled in-house daily, sauces built from fresh tomato (no canned), pasta cut to order during the lunch rush. Half and full portions on every pasta dish so you can actually order a starter without committing to the calorie load of a chain Italian dinner. The garlic knots come out hot, brushed with garlic butter, and locals consistently flag them as the table-defining first item. The lasagna is the second-most-mentioned dish in reviews, with a slow-built sauce that tastes like someone actually made it.
The room is unfussy: 50-seat dining room, family-restaurant vibe (kids' menu, regulars greeting the owners by name, calzones and pressed sandwiches at lunch), no pretense. Date nights work here but it isn't trying to be Maggiano's-formal or Scileppi's-dressy. The 4.7-star OpenTable rating across 2,800+ reservations is the kind of consistency that doesn't happen by accident.
If you're at Park Meadows for a Saturday and want lunch that isn't food-court, this is the call. If you're choosing between this and Maggiano's for a date night, choose this and save $20 a head.

Order the half-portion of a pasta as your second course rather than a full one; you'll get to try two things and still leave full. They'll split it onto two plates without asking. Cash-only deals during slow weekday lunches are not advertised but exist; ask politely.
The room can echo when full; if you need a quiet conversation, ask for a corner booth on the back wall. The dessert program is fine but not the destination; the canolis are bought-in (acknowledged on the menu).
