The Colorado Renaissance Festival is one of the largest events in Douglas County all summer, and it is right in our backyard in Larkspur. The 2026 season runs across eight themed weekends, rain or shine.

When and where

The festival is open Saturdays, Sundays, and Labor Day from June 13 through August 2, 2026, roughly 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., on the festival grounds at 650 W. Perry Park Ave. in Larkspur. Each weekend carries its own theme, so repeat visits do not feel repetitive.

What you will find

This is a full-day, walk-around experience: jousting tournaments on real horseback, more than 200 artisan and craft booths, comedy and music stages, games and rides, and the famous turkey legs and other festival food. Costumes are encouraged and very much part of the fun.

Planning tips

Tickets are cheaper online than at the gate, and the grounds get busy, so arrive earlier in the day for easier parking and shorter lines at the popular shows. Wear comfortable shoes and sun protection, because the grounds are large and mostly open, and bring a refillable water bottle for the Colorado heat.

It is a fun alternative if you have already had your fill of the Fourth of July weekend fireworks.
