Adriana's Mexican Restaurant

A family-owned Mexican kitchen on Highway 86 in Franktown, open since 2012, with all-day breakfast burritos, real green chile, and a menu of family recipes. Eastern DougCo's anchor Mexican spot. Worth the drive from Castle Rock.
Why it's here
Adriana's Mexican Restaurant sits at 7272 East Highway 86 in Franktown, the small unincorporated community 15 minutes east of Castle Rock on the way to Elizabeth. Open since July 2012 and family-run since day one, it's the eastern-DougCo answer to the question of where to get real Mexican food without driving back into the metro. Reviews on Tripadvisor average 4.6 stars and the consistency over the last decade is the actual story; same family, same recipes, same green chile.
The menu is the family-recipe kind. Mole sauce made in-house with sesame seeds. Colorado-style pork green chile (no canned, no shortcut). Breakfast burritos served all day, smothered or handheld, that locals describe as the best in the eastern county. The taco salad is the lunch order. Combo plates run cheaper than equivalent Mexican spots in Castle Rock or Lone Tree, and the half-pound burrito will feed two if you're not training for something.
The owner runs the front of house most days and accommodates dietary requests without theater. The green chile is naturally gluten-free (no flour in the roux), corn tortillas are available on request, and the kitchen will adjust spice levels for kids without making a thing of it. Service is faster than the strip-mall location suggests.
The trade-offs: the room is small and the parking lot fills on Friday nights and Sunday lunches; expect a 15-minute wait without a reservation. If you live in Castle Rock proper or further north, Los Dos Potrillos and Savina's are closer alternatives, but neither does the green-chile-and-pork-burrito form factor as cleanly. For Franktown, Elizabeth, and the Black Forest crowd, this is the local default.
